A Sarasota staple, Phillippi Creek Oyster Bar delivers the Siesta ambience that tourists pay to enjoy and locals can’t help but indulge in, one savory bite and sweet sip at a time. Arrive by land or sea for casual waterfront dining with fresh local seafood, including the recently released Caribbean Chopped Salad, appearing on the permanent menu this week. With jumbo shrimp speared kebab-style then marinated and grilled in an avocado citrus vinaigrette, this new salad screams bright coastal cuisine with its red vine-ripe tomatoes and radishes, and English cucumbers and avocados for some splashes of green. Then pair the vibrantly colored dish with a Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita, also new to the menu. Fashioned from gold tequila, orange liqueur, fresh citrus juices and chili pepper sugar for a sip with a kick, the fiery cocktail comes complete with a neon swirly straw and extra slices of cucumber to munch. Sit down amongst crab traps, ship wheels, fish and friends to eat the Sarasota way—colorful and fresh with a bit of flair.
