Two Manatee County Commissioners have been appointed to state advisory councils by Florida Senate President Bill Galvano. This week Galvano informed Commissioner Carol Whitmore that she has been appointed as a member of the Department of Elderly Affairs Advisory Council for a three-year term that begins immediately. Galvano also notified Commissioner Betsy Benac that she has been appointed as a member of the Florida Greenways and Trails Council for a term that expires in 2021. In letters to the two Commissioners, President Galvano thanked them both for their "willingness to serve on behalf of the Florida Senate."
