In celebration of National Arts and Humanities Month–a coast-to-coast celebration of culture in America–the Bradenton Area Arts, Culture and Heritage Commission has planned many experiential events reinforcing the richness of the destination’s arts and culture scene. Of the events this month is providing a personal glimpse into the life of famed artist Andy Warhol, courtesy of his nephew. Andy Warhol - From Nowhere to New York and Warhol: Parallels and Dichotomies: welcomes Warhol's nephew Donald Warhola to present two programs about his famed uncle. The first is a 60-minute presentation titled, From Nowhere to New York speaking to Andy Warhol’s resiliency and the challenges he overcame to achieve success. It will be presented at 10:30 am for students only, offering free admission. The second, Warhol: Parallels and Dichotomies, will be a 90-minute adult program exploring the differences between Andy Warhol the artist and Andy Warhol the person at 3:30pm.
Andy Warhol - From Nowhere to New York and Warhol: Parallels and Dichotomies is October 25 at the Manatee Performing Arts Center, 502 3rd Ave. West, Bradenton. Tickets are $15.
