The information pertaining to the district breaking the 50,000 student barrier was confirmed by the Florida Department of Education based on the October student count conducted each year. The results released showed the School District of Manatee County with a count of 50,052 students. The count includes students in traditional and charter schools as well as alternative education programs such as Just for Girls. The student oopulation growth from 2009 to 2019 is 7,130. Already this year, the school district has grown by almost 1,000 students since school started.

“This a major milestone for our school district and our community,” said Superintendent Cynthia Saunders. “It is a very real reflection of the wonderful community in which we live, that so many people desire to live and work here. Our full focus is on making sure our schools and district not only add to the quality of life in Manatee County, but enhance it.”
