Name two things better than burritos and puppies, we’ll wait…
Poppo’s Taqueria’s philanthropic program, Poppo’s Pups, to help canine friends in the community. Fostered on October 1, Poppo’s has already joined paws with a number of local adoption and rescue organizations in its short time span, including Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue, Bishop Animal Center, Humane Society of Manatee County, Friends of Manatee County Animal Services, Satchel’s Last Resort, Humane Society of Sarasota County and more.
“Save a dog, ride the taco train,” as they say. In other words, when you adopt from any one of Poppo’s Pups partners, the Mexican street food eatery will throw you a bone, with a meal voucher in your adoption packet, which entitles you to either two free tacos or a free burrito. And when you go to get your guac fix, Poppo’s made sure each location is pet-friendly on their patio to include water bowls and leash hooks under the tables.
Poppo’s Pups will also be hosting one fundraiser a month, where 5% of the proceeds on that day will go directly to benefitting its selected Partner-of-the-Month. Who’s a good boy for October? Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue. So feel good about ordering your tempeh taco bowl tomorrow, October 24, with a portion of it taking care of the wet-nosed residents of Nate’s. And if you want to call one of those wet-noses yours to have and to hold, October happens to be ‘National Adopt a Shelter Dog’ month. What better time to add a member to the family? The free carnitas tacos certainly doesn’t hinder the temptation either.
