Local Foundation Donates to Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida

The Giving Coast

Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida has received a $15,000 grant from the Wilson-Wood Foundation to support Girl Scout troops in under-resourced areas of Sarasota and Manatee Counties.

The award will help offset expenses for the council’s Fully Funded Troops program, which provides a traditional Girl Scout experience to girls living in economically challenged areas. Some 200 Girl Scouts participate in the program annually. All basic program costs, including curriculum books, supplies, and materials, as well as fees for membership, field trips, and other special programs are fully covered.
