The Paradise Center (TPC) is pleased to announce that the Roskamp Institute and Sarasota Bay Club have committed to a long-term sponsorship of TPC’s social enrichment programs and new medical clinic, due to open later this year. In partnership with Stratum Health System (the parent company of Tidewell Hospice) the building located at 540-550 Bay Isles Road is developing into a full-service, year-round medical, social and recreation center on Longboat Key. The Roskamp Institute and Clinic will provide seminars at The Paradise Center on the latest research and treatments regarding cognitive health. The mission of The Roskamp Institute is to conduct scientific research to discover safe and effective new drug therapies to treat diseases of the mind and to promote healthy aging.

Roskamp Institute research focuses on Alzheimer’s disease, traumatic brain injury and environmental toxins including most recently red tide. Sarasota Bay Club Retirement Community provides a full-service lifestyle for its residents and is excited about supporting the Paradise Center’s growth as it continues to enhance the quality of life for its constituents. The Paradise Center offers a variety of activities, 12 months of the year, to help seniors stay active both mentally and physically. Suzy Brenner, Executive Director of The Paradise Center states: “We are an underserved population in regard to medical services, but there is also an epidemic among seniors of loneliness and isolation and we are in a position to alleviate both.” The Paradise Center is already operating in the building.
