A certain cereal brand may have a monopoly on the tagline “magically delicious,” but a new Sarasota bakery has arrived on the scene to give them a run for their money.
A delightful play on words, The Sand Witch Shoppe is equal parts bewitching branding and homemade crafts and cookies thought up by partners in life and business Cody Johnson and Zachary Dalton. As Zachary muses, “I like to picture everything in the shop as if it were in a story book.” From the brown paper envelopes hand stamped with their logo, to the parchment paper letter accompanying each cookie box, The Sand Witch Shoppe could just as easily be operating out of Salem with their spooky vibes.
Not wanting to be limited to just one dream, Cody and Zachary each pulled out individual strengths from their respective spellbooks and created their own unique journey. Cody and Zachary provide the perfect yin and yang to their business platform, one acting as the baker and one the jewelry maker. Drawing upon his Norweigian heritage and using recipes passed down through the family, Cody “brings the magic” to each cookie. Chewy, soft, moist and spell-bindingly scrumptious The Sand Witch Shoppe baked goods are the perfect sweet treat. The chocolate chip and sugar cookies hit all the right notes and are standout classics in all the best ways. If it’s not broke don’t fix it! But if you’re looking for something a little different, try the rich Black Strap Molasses cookies. Warm, spiced and tasting like Christmas - these cookies provide an autumnal escape to our never-ending summer weather. It would pair well with a cup of tea and Friday night showing of Hocus Pocus.
In theme with their whimsical trademark, the jewelry designed by Zachary is created to bring out certain energies and draws upon Nordic folklore for its different meanings. Sustainably sourced, gender neutral and aimed to, “bring out the magic within,” Zachary’s Moon Power or Sea Witch bracelets will inspire wearers to be their best selves.
With plans to expand their Shoppe to include more gluten free, vegan and speciality Norweigan deliciousness, these two are just getting started. Zachary and Cody want shoppers to imagine their vision as, “A tale of a witch traveling through the land, selling their magical findings and unique jewelry enchanted with ancient powers.”
A little bit of this, a dash of that, The Sand Witch Shoppe has stirred up just the right potion to put on a spell on you.
