In a unique effort to promote specialized businesses that were directly affected the last few months due to Covid-19 canceling an innumerable amount of events and weddings, Nicole Kaney of NK Productions Wedding Planning planned a styled shoot collaboration with a cascade of local vendors and fellow event professionals. Totally dialed in and revered throughout Sarasota and Boca Grande, Kaney and NK Lead Planner Korrin Kelly coordinated a creative crew of hospitality mavens to get together Tuesday, August 11 at Selby Gardens. The crew collectively gathered at the South lawn of Selby under a giant Banyan tree at sunset to set up and stage a picture-perfect Gulf Coast wedding.
Among them was The Wandering Whale, who provided a Pinterest-worthy statement bar full of botanicals and serving up glasses of rosé. Victoria Blooms curated the amazing floral arrangements, while a gorgeous candlelit chandelier was hung by Affairs In The Air, modern cocktail tables and chic outdoor couches came from Florida Furniture Rental. Trout Design created the paper goods and signage, and Michael's on East provided dining china and a dance floor to set the scene for the pretend wedding. Capturing the visuals was Cat Pennenga, local wedding photographer, and Kemari Lynn Films, a local videographer—both brought on for the staging of the shoot as a way for them too, to market their creative services and gain momentum back in hired business. NK Productions also brought in a "bride" to model a designer wedding dress from Truly Forever Bridal SRQ as well as an afterparty dress, designed by Sarasota designer Camilyn Beth. Beautifully-braided hair was done up by Sarasota bridal hairstylist Suzan Watson.
As large, condensed party gatherings are still held at bay at the moment as we continue to flatten the curve of coronavirus, you can still help support these businesses by thinking local anytime you need specialized equipment or services.
