Oleskii Novikov of Ukraine Wins the 2020 SBD World's Strongest Man Championship Title

In partnership with The Bradenton Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (BACVB), the 43rd annual edition of the SBD World’s Strongest Man competition took place at Holmes Beach on Anna Maria Island, November 11-15, following an advanced new format. The Championship concluded its progressive four-day schedule as Oleksii Novikov (UKR) was crowned the 2020 World’s Strongest Man Champion in his second consecutive appearance. Strongmen finalists competed in three events on the final day including the Hercules Hold, Log Ladder and Atlas Stones, but the day belonged to first-time winner Novikov who gave a dominant performance throughout the four-day event. The 24-year-old set the stage with a new world record in the Deadlift competition at 537.5 kg / 1,185 lbs., a record previously held by Tom Magee with a 535 kilograms (1,179 lb) partial deadlift from 18" off the floor during the 1983 World's Strongest Man competition.
How to Watch Full World’s Strongest Man Program in December: Television coverage of the 2020 championship will be broadcast worldwide to more than 70 different countries and territories, totaling close to 500 million households. In the US, SBD World’s Strongest Man Championship coverage will premiere on CBS Sports Network in December and the two-hour finale is slated to air on CBS on December 26.
