Final Board Approval Received to Merge Two Florida-based Health Systems

Empath Health and Stratum Health System announced today that their Boards of Directors have formally approved the merger of the two organizations, pending regulatory approval.  The merger will create the country’s largest not-for-profit health system delivering non-acute care and services through its skilled, significant medical and holistic programs to individuals with chronic, advanced and terminal illnesses.  Rafael Sciullo, president and CEO of Empath Health said, “Today, we humbly come together to commit to combining our organizations in a thoughtful and meaningful way which will create positive impact across the communities we serve, the business partners we engage and the larger industry as a whole."
