Entrepreneur Listens to Need and Creates Project Hear It

The Giving Coast

A local business owner is giving back to the community. While working with Manatee County schools, Kristine Marsh says it was evident COVID-19 placed limitations inside and outside of the classroom. The President and Founder of Destination Knowledge, an educational software provider for school districts statewide, found out students aren’t able to share headphones. Marsh says students can’t focus on their work without headphones because distractions and background noise affect their abilities. She and her team began fundraising online and purchasing headphones for schools who need them. So far, more than $6,500 has been given to Project Hear It! through private donations and a GoFundMe website. Ballard Elementary School recently received a special delivery with 400 sets of headphones. The boxes are labeled with the names of local businesses and people who donated funds. Destination Knowledge is an approved vendor for the School District of Manatee County.
