Samaritan Counseling Services Awarded $25,000 Grant from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County

The Giving Coast

Samaritan Counseling Services was awarded a $25,000 grant provided by the James Franklin Warnell & Dorothy J. Warnell Fund of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County to support mental health services for uninsured and under-insured children and families in our community. Richard O. Howell, Executive Director of Samaritan Counseling said, “Affordable outpatient mental health counseling is a critical need in our community.  Since the pandemic began, that need has skyrocketed, and we see this trend continuing for a long time to come.”  We are truly grateful to the Community Foundation for this generous funding that will allow us to say YES to at-risk children and families who reach out to us in their darkest hour.”
