Think you're ready to scale your life down to size? Live a more simple life in a quaint space, say, less than 600ft? Think about joining the modernized Tiny Movement. The Great American Tiny House Show, now in its fifth year, will be coming to Sarasota-Bradenton for the first time this weekend on its nationwide series of conventions. With an educational-based platform to spread tiny living knowledge, attendees will be able to sit in on seminars, panel discussions and educational conferences to learn the latest in tiny living trends from professional builders, lifestyle authors, DIYers and project experts.

On display will be 15 builds of the obvious tiny housing structures and their newest trendiest models, as well as shipping container homes, modular homes, and portable structures such as renovated vans and "skoolies" (renovated school bus homes). Additional exhibits will include building equipment, home accessories relative to size, tools and supplies, real estate brokers, travel destinations and recreational products to help the aspirational tiny homeowner "get small." Attendees will also have the opportunity to explore options on real estate developments for alternative housing locations around the United States, including Florida.

This unique experience is thanks to the Great American Tiny House Show's partnership with The Tiny Home Industry Association (THIA) nonprofit. The 501(c)(6) organization advocates for regulation changes, new affordable housing standards and promotes best practices in the construction, placement and widespread use of tiny homes as permissible and permanent housing. THIA's success in legalizing tiny homes in numerous state laws and city ordinances, including the state of Maine, as well as cities and counties across California and Florida, just to name a few. The annual convention is the perfect marketplace to empower more states, cities, towns and counties to accept the humble-sized homes as a way to help diversify the limited housing market, and hopefully, spread that education to elected officials so they see tiny homes as a solution to the larger housing crisis so many communities are experiencing across the US, including Sarasota and Bradenton.

The Suncoast Tiny House Show will be held Saturday, June 26, 9am - 6pm and Sunday, June 27, 9am - 5pm at the Bradenton Convention Center - Grand Islands Hall.
