SRQ DAILY WEDNESDAY PHILANTHROPY EDITION
WEDNESDAY NOV 24, 2021 |
During December’s 'Think + Drink / Science', we’ll take you inside the making of the Jurassic Park film and other media celebrations of dinosaurs. Presented by “Dino” Don Lessem, “Jurassic Park: Fact or Fiction” is an audience-participation experience for all ages, featuring real fossils! Can we find dinosaur DNA? Bring dinosaurs back to life? Should we? How accurate are the movie depictions of dinosaurs? “Dino” Don Lessem, the dinosaur advisor on Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park, is known worldwide for his dinosaur expertise. He has written more than 40 popular science books about dinosaurs, excavated and reconstructed skeletons of some of the largest dinosaurs that ever existed, and has a dinosaur — the Lessemsaurus, a sauropod — named for him. He also created the animals in The Bishop’s DinoVenture experience, which is open now through March 18.
Hosted at The Bishop Museum of Science + Nature on December 8, 7:00pm. Cost: $5 for members of the Discovery Society; $8 for all others.
