In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, a global movement of generosity with intent to transform communities, Manatee Education Foundation (MEF) is proud to announce that approximately 150 teachers have received funds to provide educational projects for their students. In total, $125,000 was recently awarded through Teacher Impact Grants. Awarding the funds at the end of 1st quarter allows for plenty of time to use the funds in the classroom, prior to the end of the school year. Teachers ranging from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade submitted applications mid-September for the 2021-2022 school year. Manatee Education Foundation rewards teachers whose daily efforts in the classroom shape the future of our community and help build tomorrow’s workforce. Grants were funded in the following categories: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math), Literacy, Disadvantaged and At-Risk Youth, Arts & Culture and Children with Disabilities.
Anyone interested in supporting MEF’s mission to provide funding for innovative programs and enhanced educational opportunities for the teachers and students of Manatee County public schools is invited to visit their website: https://mefinfo.org.
