Each year, SRQ Media invites the community to nominate individuals with hearts of giving who have made a significant impact with local nonprofit organizations — from volunteers and board members to individual staff members and donors. This year, attendees were thrilled to be together as we recognized our annual Good Hero Philanthropic Award recipients at the SB2: Philanthropic Agenda Luncheon and Good Hero Philanthropic Awards Luncheon on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota. In the coming weeks, we are happy to feature each of the twelve honorees in our Wednesday Philanthropic edition of SRQ Daily.

Today, we are honoring Heather Todd, the Executive Director of Teen Court of Sarasota. Heather's passion for her job is beyond measure. With her help and leadership, thousands of youth have received a second chance. She remains sensitive to each of their situations at home and offers to help them purchase shoes, food and school supplies. She pushes them to do better and cries with them when they feel lost. Heather has been the Executive Director of Teen Court of Sarasota for five years. Prior to that she worked for the non-profit organization for 20 years as a Case Manager. Teens referred to Teen Court from local law enforcement and the Sarasota Public Schools are offered services and counseling to help them stay in school and receive guidance and tools to learn to make better choices. This community is a better place with Teen Court and with Heather at its helm. Thank you Heather for seeing hope in every child.
