Meals On Wheels of Sarasota is thrilled to announce the Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation has generously awarded the organization a $75,000 grant to help support its meal service program. Meals On Wheels of Sarasota clients, who range in age from 3 to 106, receive meals because they are unable to prepare meals or go to a food pantry or grocery store. Meal recipients are frequently individuals whose plight is overlooked by society but, with meal assistance, can remain safely independent in their homes with relatively minor help. Hundreds of volunteers help prepare, pack, and deliver 800 heart-healthy meals daily throughout the year.
