Downtowners have been lining up along Sarasota’s South Pineapple Avenue since April 16 for a sip of Summer Tap Juice Bar’s fresh libations.
Owner/chef Galina N. is churning out cooling blends like the Watermelon Lemonade with watermelon, lemon, strawberries and lemon zest. The sugary, tangy signature drink—stunningly presented with a strawberry and lemon slice—is as summer-perfect as it gets. And Galina N. is thrilled to be showcasing such creative concoctions.
“My family and I have lived in Sarasota area for almost 19 years, and we’re absolutely in love with watching the city grow and expand,” says Galina N., who sources her produce from Florida farms. “We wanted to offer fresh-squeezed juice in downtown Sarasota that you can drink right away.”
That they did. Every ingredient that goes into Summer Tap’s juices (for $9.99) and smoothies (for $7.99) is made from fruits and vegetables (there are no mixers, additives or powders). To sweeten up the drinks, Galina N. incorporates agave nectar, Florida orange juice or natural apple juice.
Bite-wise, Galina N.’s sweet and savory toasts (like Banana Nutella Toast with honey and mint; or Avocado and Tomato Toast with chickpeas and basil) are made with vegetarian bread from a local bakery. She also serves acai bowls and loose-leaf teas from across the globe.
The Refreshing Green smoothie is a fan fave, with its spinach, pineapple, mango, banana, agave and orange juice. And, when the crop is ideal, try a Seasonal Starfruit drink with pear, pineapple, orange and starfruit juices. Stake out your spot at Summer Tap and sip up.
