From now until June 14, head to Bistro at Sarasota Art Museum of Ringling College to soak up the rest of Savor Sarasota Restaurant Week—and see why the locale’s art-inspired menu is so buzz-worthy.
Chef Kaytlin Dangaran (from Tampa, and trained at the French Culinary Institute in New York) is whipping up a two-course, $20-per-person lunch special until the middle of the month. It includes a Green Tomato Gazpacho with Toasted Cumin Cotija Crisp, and a Summer Stone Fruit Panzanella with Charred Shrimp. The latter is a stunning, Tuscan-style chopped salad with vibrant yellow and red tomatoes, red onions, greens, bits of bread, and large bites of protein-rich seafood.
Year-round, Bistro features locally-sourced and seasonal ingredients, and Dangaran harvests fresh ingredients from Florida purveyors (like Bavarian Bread in Sarasota, and Brian Puzycki's Farm Fresh Produce in St. Petersburg).
Other menu staples include the Toasted Corned Beef Reuben with Norfolk sauce, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and rye bread; and the Goat Cheese and Tomato Tartine with blistered heirloom cherry tomatoes and roasted garlic. Dine in, walk around, see the art, and savor the flavors.
