63rd Avenue Improvements Meeting

Government

Manatee County is hosting a Public Information Meeting to detail an upcoming roadway improvement project on 63rd Avenue E. from U.S. 301 to Tuttle Avenue. The meeting will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 7461 Prospect Road, Sarasota, 34243. The public meeting will provide interested residents with an opportunity to learn more about the proposed improvements to 63rd Avenue E. Guests will be invited to view design boards and plans. Project staff will also be on hand to answer questions and provide other project-related information. There will be no formal presentation, and guests may arrive any time between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. This roadway project will widen approximately 1.12 miles of 63rd Avenue E., from U.S. 301 to Tuttle Avenue from two lanes to four 11-foot lanes (two lanes in each direction). Improvements will include a 12-foot two-way left-turn lane (TWLTL) from U.S. 301 to Prospect Road, a 16-foot raised median from Prospect Road to Tuttle Avenue, 6-foot buffered bike lanes, curb and gutter, 6-foot sidewalks in each direction and street lighting throughout the corridor. The project also includes improvements at the 63rd Avenue E. intersections with 33rd Street and Tuttle Avenue that include replacing the stop sign-traffic control with traffic signals, left turn lanes and pedestrian crosswalks. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status.
