SRQ Magazine's Home of the Year Competition Recognizes 2023 Award Winners

House and Home

SRQ Magazine's 2023 Home of the Year winners were announced at an awards ceremony that took place this past Friday evening in the Rosemary District at SmartHouse Integration, the event’s presenting sponsor and host. The Home of the Year Competition celebrates Gulf Coast homes in the region that articulate superlative architecture and design form and function, from the integrity of the space to the design process. Each year, homes are submitted by home builders, architects, landscape architects and interior designers in the Sarasota and Manatee region. A panel of judges from around the country jury the entries and award the Home of the Year Platinum, Gold and Silver awards—judges for this year’s competition were architects Bruce Sparano, Hugo Mijares and David Poorman.

The celebration began with cocktails and light bites provided by Pier 22 Catering as guests mingled throughout the intimate atmosphere of the SmartHouse Integration showroom where they were able to interact with the most innovative designs in home electronics, security, and home management systems. SmartHouse Integration founder and president Mark van den Broek welcomed guests to his “experience center” and expressed gratitude for being part of the vision of the architects, builders and homeowners who included his team’s design and products in their homes.

Awards were then presented by SRQ Magazine Executive Publisher, Wes Roberts in the following categories: Best Sustainability | Green Home, Best Remodel | Renovation, Best Kitchen, Best Overall Interior Design, Best Overall Home between $1 Million and $2 Million, Best Overall Home Over $2 Million.

Congratulations to all of the stunning entries and winners in the 2023 Home of the Year Competition. These winning entries are published in the March 2023 awards edition of SRQ Magazine.
