Sarasota County Sheriff Kurt A. Hoffman is pleased to announce that two members graduated from the most recent Command Officer Management Program Cohort sponsored by St. Leo University and hosted by the Wildwood Police Department. Administrative Division Chief Lisa Kiesel and Lieutenant Arik Smith participated in the 18-credit hour certificate program consisting of six courses over six months. The students learned about critical topics such as leadership, ethics, human resources, critical incident management, and other relevant administrative competencies. Saint Leo University’s Command Officer Management Program: Executive Leadership Institute was designed to provide onsite education that prepares law enforcement officers and employees for the transition to command staff and leadership positions. “In succession planning, leadership development must be a priority,” said Sheriff Hoffman. “This level of continuing education enhances our personnel’s ability to serve and lead in our agency and community.”
