What better way to kickstart your future kindergartner’s excitement than with dinner, dancing and delightful fun! Suncoast Remake Learning Days is once again making that happen for Sarasota County families. It’s called “Kickoff to K” For the second year, the Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County is teaming up with Sarasota County Schools to host two FREE parties for all incoming public and charter kindergartners and their families- one in north county and another in south county. The goal? Connect incoming kindergartners with their future school so they can navigate the process as early as possible. We welcome families who know everything about their child’s new elementary school as well as those who know nothing about it. If families still need to find their district school, we’ve got it covered! Families will have the opportunity to meet district leaders, kindergarten teachers from various schools, and get their questions answered. The best part is families will have a great time while gathering information. Eligibility specialists with the Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County will also be onsite to help families navigate their childcare search for younger siblings including Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK)—a free preschool program for all Florida 4-year-olds regardless of income. In addition to food and dancing with a DJ, the event will feature a photo booth, five literacy-themed activity zones, an art project with the Ringling Museum, interactive STEM activities with the Sarasota Children’s Museum, free book giveaways and a swag bag full of take-home learning materials and activities for the whole family to enjoy!  Suncoast Remake Learning Days is part of a global 15-day local learning festival of more than 300 free events for children and families to enjoy together.
