Sheriff Hoffman Holds Promotion Ceremony

Government

Sarasota County Sheriff Kurt A. Hoffman is proud to announce the promotion of two sheriff’s office members in a ceremony held on April 18, 2024. Sergeant Tyler Fowler was hired by the sheriff’s office and assigned to the patrol bureau in 2011. He later transferred to the traffic unit and then returned to patrol, where he served as a field training deputy -- mentoring and preparing new deputies. Sergeant Fowler obtained his law enforcement certificate at Manatee Technical Institute and his Associate of Science in Public Safety Administration at State College of Florida. Lieutenant Jesse Gieseke began his career in the patrol bureau in 2016. Since being hired, he has worked in various units and bureaus, including the tactical, intelligence, and fugitive apprehension units as well as the homeless outreach team. In 2017, he was appointed to the agency’s SWAT team. During his career at SCSO, he has received two life-saving awards, one of which was for his actions while off-duty at a local fitness center. Lieutenant Gieseke received his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice at the University of Central Florida and his certificate of law enforcement at the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Academy. “As these leaders move forward in their law enforcement careers, we proudly celebrate their accomplishments,” said Sheriff Hoffman. “Our agency values the hard work of those who pursue knowledge and work diligently to make the sheriff’s office and Sarasota County stronger, safer, and better.”
