District Announces New Principal of Southside Elementary

Sarasota County Schools is pleased to announce that Dr. Allison Foster has been appointed as the new Principal of Southside Elementary School. She will assume her new role on Monday, June 3, 2024. Dr. Foster earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Wake Forest University, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University. She earned her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida, and her Educational Doctorate in K-12 Educational Administration from the University of Florida.Dr. Foster served as Sarasota County Schools’ Interim Superintendent of Schools from February 2023 to July 2023. Before assuming her current role as the Executive Director of Human Resources & Labor Relations in April 2021, she served as the Principal of Phillippi Shores Elementary for thirteen years. Dr. Foster has also served as the Assistant Principal of Toledo Blade Elementary and the Assistant Principal of Gulf Gate Elementary. A proud product of the Sarasota County school system, she has spent her entire twenty-seven-year career in education working for Sarasota County Schools.
