Grimes Galvano Adds Former Manatee County Attorney Bill Clague

Grimes Galvano recently announced the addition of former Manatee County Attorney Bill Clague to its growing team of skilled attorneys. At Grimes Galvano, Clague will focus on transactional, land use and administrative law. Clague served Manatee County in various capacities for more than 20 years. Most recently, from January 2021 through February 2024, Clague was the Manatee County Attorney, where he served as general counsel to Manatee County Government, including the Board of County Commissioners, County Administrator and County staff. From 2018 through 2020, he held the position of chief assistant county attorney and from 2003 to 2018, he served as assistant county attorney. Prior to his time with Manatee County, Clague practiced in Orange County in private practice from 1998 to 2003 and as an assistant county attorney from 1996 to 1998. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and his law degree from Florida State University College of Law.
