This Saturday, October 19 from 10am-3pm the Spotlight is on Limelight Market. This fun, pop up market happens in the courtyard of The Bazaar on Apricot & Lime with rescue dogs, unique guest vendors, food and live music. Check out the 40+ local creators and curators inside. It’s all free, until you buy something amazing.

Kim Livengood, co-owner and operator of The Bazaar on Apricot & Lime and Hamlet’s Eatery says she’s glad to be getting back to regular operations this week and grateful for the support of her vendors and the incredible community. The Bazaar, like many other local businesses, has struggled with the recent storms in the area these past few months. “We were flooded really badly from Debby and that was our most extensive damage,” shares Livengood. “After that, we became much better at preparing for storms. We now have so many sandbags and for Milton, we added tarps along with the sandbags. So right now, we are dry and we just need to clean up the debris and put furniture back.”

With Hurricane Milton, the Bazaar lost power and although the lights came back on after a few days, Livengood says everyone was just too exhausted to get right back to business. “The whole Bazaar family needed time to regroup and get organized so everybody's coming in this week to set up and clean up and get reorganized in time for Saturday.”

In addition to sharing her gratitude, Livengood wants to stress the importance of supporting local business, especially during trying times like this. “Not just the Bazaar, but for every local business, it's more important than ever to shop local. I know it's really easy to shop online and just click buttons without taking your wallet out, but our local business community needs your support, love and compassion right now,” she says. “I think one of the things the Bazaar does best is that we've created this community for everybody to come out and feel loved and welcomed. It doesn't necessarily mean shopping--it's just really special being part of that community.”

The Bazaar on Apricot & Lime is located at 821 Apricot Ave, Sarasota.
