Her mother’s heart held a special place for children—always looking for ways to bring comfort, joy, and opportunity into their lives. That love lives on through Mom’s Book Nook, a community initiative founded by Felicia Donson in honor of her late mother, Elaine Rothberg, a retired Sarasota Memorial Hospital nurse whose quiet generosity and boundless compassion inspired a lifetime of giving back. Together, the pair found purpose in volunteering and discovered their shared joy in spreading the love of reading. They began by curating and expanding a classroom library for a retired teacher and family friend—and then made it their mission to place books directly into the hands of students, especially during holidays and summer breaks.
