"This is a very substantial and sizable project not only for us, but for the city and community as well."

The recreation of an iconic Sarasota sports club is officially underway. On April 9, the Bath + Racquet Residencies and Club will host its official Groundbreaking Ceremony, commemorating the start of vertical construction on the luxury property. The new property is being constructed on the site of the former Sarasota Bath + Racquet Club, a venue which brought professional tennis players to the city in 1973 for the Virginia Slims of Sarasota tournament and helped establish the culture of tennis in the community.
“The new infrastructure will essentially be a new community where people can finally live, play and work. It will feature 256 condominium units in a four story building over an approximately 14 acre lot in south Sarasota,” says Fabio Di Prima, founder and president of Silver Sky Capital, which is developing the property. “There will also be a pretty substantial recreational component with 13 outdoor tennis courts, a pickleball-dedicated building with 14 indoor pickleball courts and approximately 40,000 square feet of indoor fitness facilities.”
Nestled around roughly 35,000 square feet of retail and commercial space, Di Prima hopes that residents will have the ability to create their own community within Sarasota while still being within walking distance of downtown. The Bath + Racquet Residencies and Club is set to be completed by the end of 2026—the aggressive construction schedule coming after years of planning, development and demolition on the site.
“The demolition has been completed and now we’re moving on vertical construction and the next stage will be the completion of the site. We’re beginning to pour foundations early next week,” says Di Prima. “We’re very proud of our progress. This is a very substantial and sizable project not only for us, but for the city and community as well.”

Two grizzled courtroom veterans relive their toughest fights, both in triumph and defeat, while conveying just how easy it can be to find the target landing on your own back.

America’s media is rapidly being transformed, and that transformation is accelerating. Over 20 years, traditional news organizations lost more than half of their daily newspaper circulation. Beyond technology, the shift to social media was driven by a plummeting of trust in national news outlets, whose reporting was often overtly biased and false. Ironically, after social media platforms emerged as the new town square, they rapidly became tools for censorship, at times in collusion with government, most vividly on display during COVID.
