Dan Ceaser, Incoming Temple Beth Sholom Head of School, To Speak
This Thursday, March 5, at 6:30pm Dan Ceaser will be delivering a presentation at the Temple Beth Sholom Upper School Media Center to discuss his plans regarding his incoming tenure as Head of School, where Ceaser will be responsible for the operational and instructional programming at TBS Schools. Following the departure of previous director Kavita Vasil, TBS Schools launched a search and selection committee in March 2014, finding Ceaser at his position as middle school director at Kentucky Country Day School in Louisville, KY. While at Kentucky Country Day, Ceaser made a name for himself as an innovator and technologically-minded educator, including beginning a partnership with Google to make Country Day the first independent middle school in the nation to implement a 1:1 Chromebook platform. "We knew we had some big shoes to fill,” said Wendy Katz, intern director of TBS Schools, following Ceaser's visit this past October, “but Dan’s extensive experience, entrepreneurial vision, passion for technology, education and well-aligned curriculum knowledge of the Reggio Emilia Approach and project-based learning set him apart." A graduate of the Harvard University Graduate School of Education and the Fisher School Leadership Institute at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, he also holds a master’s degree in teaching from American University and a bachelor’s degree from Colorado College.
